Frequently Asked Questions
Users can piggy back on orders made by joining orders on notifications directed in their route of interest. A user can track orders by selecting the in-progress button to monitor the status of their order. Here, they can find the runners phone number to contact them, give more details, make clarifications and to find out how far they are. A requester (user requesting delivery) who joins an order can only view the runner (user making delivery) details once the runner has accepted their order.
A user that starts a run has to accept a requested order in order to view the requester-user’s order details. A runner is notified to accept orders once a user joins order. The runner can view the list of orders on the in-progress icon.
Once a runner-user delivers items to the requester-user, the requester-user pays the specified amount on the run-post that they joined directly to the runner either via cash or M-pesa, depending on the runner’s preference. Parceloca does not receive any amount on behalf of the user for any deliveries. The runner specifies and determines the amount to charge per run when posting.
Users are encouraged to choose users they trust. While we promise to do all we can to help you get your items back, please remember that Parceloca is not liable for items lost. In case we are not able to recover your items, you reserve the right to escalate the issue to law enforcement authorities. We will provide assistance as specified by the law. The current commission-owing ceiling is Ksh. 250. However, Parceloca reserve the right to change the commission ceiling from time to time.
A user-runner can take up to seven (7) orders per run. However, the runner is expected to deliver they solicited orders when the delivery time reaches; even if they orders solicited are than seven.
All users that start a run are able to determine their own prices per order. This allows deliveries prices to be flexible and affordable as possible, and therefore cheaper.
A user may choose a runner that is travelling in the same direction as their preferred destination, or one they prefer and may be willing to deliver in a different route at the same price. However, only the runner has the ability to decline an order. A runner-user is given the option to accept or decline an order when a requester-user joins order.
How much one makes depends on the number of followers and public users join order on their run post, their strategic location and the times they start runs. This may average to Ksh. 2000 or more per day.
